Lots of new visual improvements were announced today for the Google+ profile pages. For me, it was a literal head-to-desk moment, having just finished a cover design for one of our clients. D'oh!
Here's the scoop on the new cover:
- You can upload a cover up to 2120 x 1192px.
- When your browser is resized, though, the cover will be proportionately resized...so no teeny, tiny text!
- There is a semi-translucent back gradient at the bottom where a 120x120px circle version of your profile pic and your name is.
- When the page first loads, only the lower portion of the photo shows. When a user scrolls, the rest will appear.
- Google will crop your cover photo if it isn't in a 16:9 ratio.
